Noteworthy Music Events Spotlight Excellence of Brooklyn Band Program

The Brooklyn Band Program had an eventful weekend from June 25 – 27, 2026. Five of our jazz students performed at the TRI-C Jazz Festival in Cleveland's Playhouse Square. Receiving full scholarships as Jazz All-Stars, they participated in a two-week camp culminating in performances at this year's festival. This year's participants were EJ Velez, Jafet Rodriguez, Ben Denovchek, Bryson Heimburger, and Jon Changeri. The Brooklyn Hurricane Marching Band sent this year's Field Commander, senior Austin Adkins, to a conducting camp at the University of Akron in conjunction with The Phantom Regiment. Austin spent Thursday through Saturday learning the fundamentals of ensemble conducting and leadership skills. His final performance was at Guzzetta Recital Hall at the University of Akron.
