Posted Date: 06/02/26 (07:24 PM)

Dear Brooklyn High School Families,

I am pleased to announce that Mr. Jean Capacetti has been selected as the next Principal of Brooklyn High School, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. Mr. Capacetti was Board approved at the Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Brooklyn Board of Education meeting.

Mr. Capacetti is an experienced educational leader with a strong background in both teaching and school administration across urban, suburban, and rural school districts. He currently serves as Principal of Northwood Middle School in Elyria City Schools and previously served as Assistant Principal at Midview Local Schools. With 18 years in education, including 13 years as a Spanish teacher, he brings a student-centered leadership approach focused on academic achievement, relationship-building, and fostering a positive school culture.

Throughout the interview process, Mr. Capacetti demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, school safety, communication, and building positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community. We are confident that his experience and leadership will continue to build upon the strong traditions and successes of Brooklyn High School.

I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Mr. Matt Larson for his six years of dedicated service and leadership at Brooklyn High School. Mr. Larson has made a lasting impact on our students, staff, and community through his commitment to educational excellence and student success. We are grateful for his leadership and wish him continued success in his new district-level role.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Capacetti to the Brooklyn City Schools and confident that Brooklyn High School will continue to thrive under his leadership.

Please join me in welcoming Mr. Capacetti to the Brooklyn community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Theodore Caleris
Superintendent. Brooklyn City Schools
